Overview
The Museu Picasso houses one of the most extensive collections of Pablo Picasso's works, with over 4,250 pieces spanning his early years through his later periods. The museum is spread across five interconnected medieval palaces on Carrer de Montcada. Despite the historic buildings, the museum is fully accessible. Lifts and ramps connect all floors and all rooms across the five palaces, with no accessibility restrictions in any exhibition space. Wheelchairs are available to borrow. Visitors with disabilities receive free admission.
Getting There
- Metro: Jaume I station (L4) is the closest stop, about 300 meters from the museum. Note that Jaume I station has limited accessibility. Arc de Triomf station (L1) is a slightly longer walk but has full elevator access.
- Bus: Routes 45, 120, V15, and V17 stop within walking distance.
- On foot: From La Rambla, walk east through the Gothic Quarter on Carrer de la Princesa toward El Born. The route is flat and paved.
Admission is completely free for visitors with disabilities. No proof of a specific disability percentage is required. Guide dogs are also welcome inside all rooms.

Tips for Visitors with Disabilities
- Free admission for disabled visitors applies at all times, with no advance booking needed for the disability discount. However, booking a timed slot online is recommended during busy periods.
- Free admission days (first Sunday of each month, and Thursday evenings) are very crowded. Visitors with disabilities may prefer standard visiting hours for a calmer experience.
- The Thursday late opening (until 9:30pm) is a good option for a quieter visit, especially after 7:00pm when free admission begins and day visitors leave.
- Carrer de Montcada (the street the museum is on) is a narrow medieval street. It is flat but can be congested with pedestrians. Arrive early for the easiest approach.
- The museum cafe and bookshop are also accessible.
- Combine with a visit to the Gothic Quarter and Barcelona Cathedral, both within a 10-minute roll on flat ground.
