Tips for Visiting Attractions with a Disability

  • Most Milan museums offer free entry for disabled visitors. National and civic museums (Brera, Castello Sforzesco, Museo del Novecento, GAM, and more) provide free admission for visitors with disabilities and their companion. Bring your disability card or European Disability Card.
  • Download the ATM Milano app. Check real-time elevator status at Metro stations before heading to an attraction. Most stations on Lines M1 and M3 have elevators, but some older stations may have temporary outages.
  • Milan's city center is flat. The area around the Duomo, Brera, and Castello Sforzesco has smooth sidewalks with dropped curbs. Watch out for cobblestones in the Navigli district and around older churches.
  • Visit popular attractions early. The Duomo, Last Supper, and Pinacoteca di Brera get crowded by mid-morning. Arriving at opening time gives wheelchair users more space to navigate and shorter queues. Book Last Supper tickets well in advance as disabled visitors still need a timed reservation.
