Overview
The Duomo di Milano is Italy's largest church and the third largest in the world. Construction began in 1386 and continued for nearly six centuries. The cathedral's white marble facade features thousands of statues and dozens of spires. Wheelchair users can enter through two ramps on the main facade and access the first rooftop terrace via the southern elevator. The interior aisles are wide and smooth. Some areas, including the Crypt and Baptistery, are not accessible due to stairs.

Tips for Visitors with Disabilities
- Purchase tickets online at duomomilano.it to skip the ticket queue. You still need to pass through security screening at the entrance.
- The rooftop terrace elevator has limited capacity. Expect wait times of 15 to 30 minutes during peak hours (11:00 to 14:00).
- The terrace area accessible by wheelchair is limited to the back choir section on the first level. Higher terraces require stairs.
- Morning visits (before 10:00) offer the least crowded conditions inside the cathedral.
- The piazza can be windy in winter. The interior temperature stays cool year-round, so bring a layer even in summer.
